13 Reasons Why Talking Points

13 Reasons Why Talking Points

There is a new Netflix show based on the book “13 Reasons Why” that many young people across the country are watching. The story deals with difficult topics such as sexual violence, bullying, and teen suicide. Although it is thought that the makers of the show were trying to portray the tragedy of the situation, there are reported cases of students responding negatively to the story.

Because the issues shown are so uncomfortable, the SAVE and JED anti-suicide foundations have created a “13 Reasons Why Talking Points” list to use when discussing the story. Please see the linked document and if you feel you have concerns, don’t hesitate to contact the school. You can contact me, Mr. Havens, Ms. Stone, or any staff member. We can never be too concerned with our kids!
