2017 Shine Bright Scholarship

We so so very pleased to finally be able to offer a $500 scholarship to help one lucky student with their college education expenses! Most of the team here at DiamondStoreReviews.com had to put themselves through college, and we know first hand how hard that can be! If you’re in that situation (which most American students are), every single little bit of extra money really goes a long way. That was makes us so proud to be able to offer this type of monetary assistance this school year.

In order to apply, candidates should write an 600 word essay entitled “The True Meaning of A Diamond Engagement Ring”. Most of us will be be engaged at some point of our lives, and that time is a very important time to say the least. We’d like to take this opportunity to help applicants thing beyond just the aesthetics of diamond rings, and focus on the true meaning and symbolism that comes with it.

Applicants must be high school seniors, Junior College, College, University, or Trade School students.

Application Deadline is November 1st, 2017.

13 Reasons Why Talking Points

13 Reasons Why Talking Points

There is a new Netflix show based on the book “13 Reasons Why” that many young people across the country are watching. The story deals with difficult topics such as sexual violence, bullying, and teen suicide. Although it is thought that the makers of the show were trying to portray the tragedy of the situation, there are reported cases of students responding negatively to the story.

Because the issues shown are so uncomfortable, the SAVE and JED anti-suicide foundations have created a “13 Reasons Why Talking Points” list to use when discussing the story. Please see the linked document and if you feel you have concerns, don’t hesitate to contact the school. You can contact me, Mr. Havens, Ms. Stone, or any staff member. We can never be too concerned with our kids!
